Ayanna S. Pressley is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Massachusetts' 7th district. She was first elected in 2018. Pressley served as an at-large member of the Boston City Council from 2010 to 2018. She was the first woman of color ever elected to the Boston City Council. Prior to serving as a city councilor, Pressley worked as a senior aide for Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy II and as political director for Senator John Kerry. Pressley is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Progressive Caucus. She serves on the House Committees on Oversight and Reform, and Financial Services.read less
