Arthur J. Corvese was born in Providence. Corvese earned an A.B. in political science from Providence College. He worked as Director of Constituent Services for Congressman Robert Tiernan from 1974 until 1980. Corvese served as Deputy Secretary of State from 1981 to 1983. In 1982 Corvese was first elected to the Rhode Island House of Representatives. He served 22 years as the Deputy Majority Leader. He represented the 55th District.read less
