Art Staed was born in Akron, Ohio. He received his Bachelor's degree in finance from Kent State University in 1966. After graduation, he worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron for over 30 years until 1999, holding a variety of financial positions including controller, finance manager and plant manager at eleven company locations throughout the U.S. In the 1980s, Staed was elected to the Cuyahoga Falls city council, serving two four-year terms. He focused on balancing the budget and attracting new jobs.read less
