Andrew S. Gounardes is the State Senator for the 22nd Senate District of New York. He attended public elementary, middle, and high schools in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Andrew graduated summa cum laude from Boston College and received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School where he served as Student Bar Association President. Andrew began his career as an assistant district attorney, prosecuting complex narcotics cases throughout New York City. He focused on dismantling drug operations and getting illegal guns off the streets in an effort to make neighborhoods safer for families. After five years as a prosecutor, Andrew joined a law firm where he specialized in labor and employment law.read less
