Andre V. Johnson was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1982. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After college, Andre worked at the South Carolina Department of Education coordinating community programs. In 2010, Andre ran for State Senate and won. As a member of the State Legislature, he served on the Education Committee where he advocated for increased funding for schools and teachers. Andre lives in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife Jane and their two children.read less
