Alyse Galvin was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. She attended West Anchorage High School and graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree in journalism. Galvin is a longtime advocate for public education. She served on the leadership team of Great Alaska Schools, an organization of parents, teachers, and community leaders working to strengthen public education in Alaska. Galvin currently works with communities and nonprofits across Alaska focusing on building local solutions through collaboration. She and her husband Pat have been married for over 25 years and have four children.read less
