Alec Brook-Krasny immigrated to the US from Russia in 1989. He earned a degree in engineering from Moscow State University prior to emmigrating. Brook-Krasny was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in November 2006. He represents the 11th Suffolk district. In 2012, Brook-Krasny won a contested Democratic primary for state representative. He defeated incumbent Carlo Basile in the primary and faced no opposition in the general election. He is currently serving his fourth term in office. His committee assignments include the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies as well as the House Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures, and State Assets.read less
