Adrienne A. Jones is the Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates. She was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 1997. After serving as Deputy Majority Whip from 2003-2019, Jones was elected Speaker of the House on May 1, 2019, becoming Maryland’s first female and first African American Speaker. Jones serves on several committees such as the Rules and Executive Nominations Committee and the Legislative Policy Committee. Prior to serving as Delegate, she worked as a computer analyst for Bell Atlantic and Verizon companies. Jones has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Bowie State University.read less
