Aaron M. Ortiz was born and raised in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ortiz has served as a public school teacher and also worked at a nonprofit that helps prepare students for college. In 2016, Ortiz was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives. During his time in the legislature, he has focused on issues such as education funding, workers' rights, immigration reform, and environmental protections.
